An audio-visual wonder indeed! On September 16, 2023, the very talented musicians of The Philippine Suzuki Youth Orchestra (PSYO), together with violinists Adrian Nicolas Ong and Theodore Julius Tan, cellist Herrick Ortiz, and cello quartet Spectrum dazzled the guests in the Metropolitan Museum of Manila with an impressive repertoire of classical and contemporary musical pieces! All dressed in their elegant Barong Tagalogs and Baro’t Sayas, the children soared high with every note smoothly gliding together as they strike their violins, violas, cellos, and keys producing melodies that speak emotions—bringing to life the composers of each harmonious creations. At the same time, giving more opportunities for kids in the metro and other parts of the country as PSYO channels its proceeds to their outreach and education programs. For this concert, PSYO partnered with the Metropolitan Museum Of Manila to combine stunning works of art in paintings, sculptures, textiles, and digital with the sensational anthems of different eras. This brings to life the favorites and what’s current, thus the name of the event, Contemporary. For those who missed it, you may experience the performance here plus some photos of that musical afternoon below by Camille King. After the successful HOPELESS ROMANTIC, ODETTE QUESADA Homecoming Concert last January 2020 which got SRO attendance and very good reviews, we heard the clamor for another special concert, which may be considered as the best Original Pilipino Music (OPM) throwback gathering so far. Odette’s songs truly defined the ‘80s and the revival of her works in movies, recordings, and commercials have made “Till I Met You,” “Friend Of Mine,” “Growing Up,” “To Love Again,” “Farewell”, “I Need You Back,” “Give Me A Chance,” “You’re My Home,” “Ayoko Na Sana,” “Don’t Know What To Do, Don’t Know What To Say,” among many other anthems relevant until now. Moreover, this time it’ll be a LEVEL UP performance after the two-year hiaitus because of the pandemic. First, because we are celebrating Odette Quesada’s 40th Anniversary in the music industry; and second, we are also raising funds for Hidilyn Diaz’s training and competition that will lead onto the Paris Olympics in 2024. Don't mist this unique anniversary show of Multi-Awarded Singer-Songwriter Odette Quesada in a concert- master class that will be full of reminiscing, interaction and a lot of jamming. “ODETTE QUESADA ALL HITS : The 40th Anniversary Celebration will happen on September 1, 2023 at the Newport Performing Arts Theater at the Newport World Resorts in Pasay, Metro Manila. It is something we can all be proud of - as it chronicles our lives through songs, simple, heartfelt and sincere - that is signature Odette Quesada. 105.1 Crossover, your source of the finest in musical entertainment on FM radio for 25 years, is now CROSSOVER RADIO ONLINE.
